Walking into a store now you might see Christmas decorations right away to hear Christmas music being played over their sound system. You see clothes, accessories, and so much more stuff with green and red or Christmas themed prints. Many people may be excited seeing this stuff because it means Christmas is almost here, but I think putting up these decorations and things before Thanksgiving is too soon.
Yes, the idea of Christmas coming soon is exciting, but it’s still more than a month away. We still have one more holiday to celebrate before Christmas, Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving decorations should be hung up around stores, not Christmas.
People who put up their trees and lights now may think they are getting it done before its cold outside. But isn’t the cold weather just another part of Christmas? After Thanksgiving people complain about eating too much food and that they need to burn it off. Hanging up lights and putting up your tree is a great workout to work off all the food you ate. Doing these things as a family also makes it a shorter amount of time. This time of year is all about family.
After Thanksgiving has passed and everyone has had time to recover from it, it is the perfect time to hang up your Christmas lights, decorate your tree, start playing Christmas music and enjoy all the other joys of the Christmas season.
Families and stores should wait until then to start celebrating the Christmas season.
