The National Hockey League (NHL) season began Oct. 6 checking off its 95th season. Everyone has high expectations for their teams, but what team has the highest? The Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup last season against the Vancouver Canucks in a breathtaking game seven on Vancouver ice.
This season should be a very good one if everyone around the league stays healthy. The much-favored Pittsburg Penguins had lost their star captain/center Sidney Crosby last year to a concussion. He was on his way to a record-breaking season where he had 66 points in 41 games, but it all ended when he took a blow to the head that gave him a concussion, which caused him to be out for the rest of the season. The Penguins have high expectations of their team staying healthy.
Predicting the NHL season’s conference winners will be tough. In my perspective the Pittsburgh Penguins will win the Eastern Conference, that’s if the team will stay healthy, unlike last year where they lost two star players. The Penguins have a great chance, because they are always successful in the post season and have one of the greatest players in the league, Sidney Crosby.
In the Western conference I have the Vancouver Canucks winning. After a disappointing loss to the Bruins in the Stanley Cup, the Canucks will play with anger in efforts to redeem their city. In the Stanley Cup final I predict the Vancouver Canucks over the Penguins in five games.
