Two hundred dollars is the amount of money that sophomore Addie Kirkland was willing to spend in order to make homecoming night a memorable one.
“It was definitely worth it, and it’s not like I can’t ever wear the dress and shoes again,” said Kirkland.
She is convinced that it is worth every single penny spent. Of course she didn’t do it all herself though.
“I went dress shopping with my best friend and my mom, then I just told my date the colors, so that he could match his tie,” said Kirkland.
Kirkland’s good friend Kaitlin Adams seemed to be on the same page as far as thoughts and opinions of homecoming night.
“I’m really glad I went. It’s not every night that you get to do something like that,” said Adams.
Adams and her friends didn’t hesitate. They jumped at the first opportunity to begin preparing for their big night.
“I got my dress three weeks in advance because I was too excited to wait,” said Adams.
They had every detail figured out with plenty of time to spare. From dresses and shoes, to pictures and dinner, their schedule was flawless. However, not everyone was as pumped up for homecoming as Kirkland and Adams.
“I didn’t really feel like it would be fun to go as a sophomore,” said Stephanie Grace who saw it as a great opportunity to have a night out with friends.
“We got all dressed up and went to take pictures, and then went out to eat before going to the movies,” said Grace. “I don’t regret missing the dance this year, but I plan on going next year for sure.”
