“Everybody wins,” said Coach Don Struebing when he was talking about this years canned food drive.
Ms. Patti Priest and the Wildcat Future Farmers of America hold this canned food drive for the North West Arkansas Food Bank every year. Last year they collected 1,100 pounds of canned goods. This year they would like to beat that.
To do this, she has an incentive for the class and teacher that donate the largest amount of canned food. For the teacher, they will receive a $50 gift card to a store of their choice. The class will receive something too, but Mrs. Priest has not announced what it will be.
Mr. John Stewart wants to win this year, having been defeated by Coach Struebing last year.
“I felt below average. I didn’t like it at all,” said Mr. Stewart.
To achieve his goal, he’s bargained with his students: if they win, they will not have to write one essay this January. The student that donates the most out of his classes will receive his $50 gift card in addition to their mysterious prize.
