One of the oldest traditions for the New Year dated is New Year resolutions. Dated back to the ancient Babylonians, New Year’s resolutions have been popular and created by people all around the world.
Popular resolutions normally include getting fit and healthy for the year or being a better person and a better friend. But, not all resolutions are so common and so broad. A lot of student resolutions are specific and individual.
“I need to do my AP Cal BC homework this semester,” said senior Zach Nordin. “I am pretty sure everyone else in my class could say the same, but this is more so specific for me.”
Studying and doing homework is a popular new resolution for a lot of students. For other students, there are more social life resolutions.
“I really want to make good memories this year,” said senior Travis Mansell. “There are a lot of fun times in a year and this year I want to be sure to remember them all.”
Some student’s resolutions are not quite as serious and more for their own accomplishments and goals.
“I want to be able to go somewhere when I have not taken a shower in a day,” said senior Jennifer Lopes-Silva. “That may sound weird, but I just always have to be clean and I feel otherwise uncomfortable.”
From something entirely serious to something as trivial as stop drinking soda for a year, New Year’s resolutions are broad and important for some to make changes or just make experiences that will affect the rest of your life.
