One could say that Ke$ha’s style has evolved since the days of her “Animal/Cannibal” albums. Instead of her frat-style raps and dance party beats, the glittery pop star has another hit in a more mature style with her new single “Die Young.”
The song is catchy, has a good foot-tapping beat, and dynamic vocals. On her previous records, Ke$ha’s background music is mostly made up of synthetic, electronic beats produced by a computer. However, “Die Young” features a varied sound, opening up with guitar and tambourine, then moves back to a blend of synthetic sounds and instruments during each verse. The chorus opens with the instrumentals.
Like always, her vocals are superb but less covered up with auto-tune. Her lyrics still fit in the typical Ke$ha style, but the music itself sounds mature in comparison to her preceding hits such as “Take it Off” and “Blow.”
Overall, Ke$ha has given us the perfect preview from her upcoming album, “Warrior,” to be released Dec. 4.
