A highly publicized let down is the best way to describe the new “Tron” movie. A movie that was billed as one of the best 3D movies ever made failed to live up to the hype. The graphics were good, but they did not seem to deliver anything better than the average effects viewers see in almost every movie these days.
The movie centers on a troubled teenager, Sam Flynn. After his father vanishes, Flynn struggles to understand why his father hasn’t been around. He spends his time getting into trouble and evading the police. In the midst of all this, he is pulled into a video game world his father created. After realizing that his father has been held captive in the game world all this time, Flynn is thrust into a battle to free his father.
From the first 20 minutes the movie can easily be predicted. There are few turns in the plot that take a viewer by surprise.
As a whole the movie is good. However, it is not great by any means. It is a good movie to watch for a dollar from Red Box, but it really isn’t worth the money at the theaters.
